Artist Statement
My practice is continually evolving. I create collections that intertwine to make their own stories, old and new. It’s about expression and exploration of ideas, media, materials, the unknown, the world and life. I have an integral need for the variety that exploring brings. Curiosity and the adventure of discovery keep my practice moving and evolving.
I work in a wide range of media depending on what materials are available and how they inspire me. Using photography, digital media, painting, print, various crafts, installation and words to capture, express and explore. My paper based work often begins through a desire not to waste (waste not want not) and to record, as a blotting or a monotype from a canvas work or a paint spill that is then worked on to create the final piece. The digital series is created from photographs that would otherwise have been discarded but have yeilded a large number of unique images. (Included here are just a small number of images created from 2 separate photographs)
I am currently working from a studio with Elevator Artists in Liverpool at the Elevator Buildings. We welcome visitors by appointment but occasionally have open studios for anyone to come along and see artists at work, see their work and buy if so desired. If you would like to visit us just email me to arrange a time.
